Hit Refresh on the U.S. Constitution

#unifyUSA is an inter-partisan movement that mobilizes communities to build Citizens’ Assemblies at the state level. We are catalyzing civic engagement across the country so that we can hit refresh on the U.S. Constitution.

In a polarized era, Citizens’ Assemblies offer something rare: a space to build trust and bridge our divides, while identifying nuanced policy recommendations that satisfy diverse interests. By expanding Citizens’ Assemblies across the U.S. – from living rooms to a national convening — #unifyUSA will generate the public will to establish mechanisms for deliberative democracy and reconstruct the Constitution from the ground up.

Our goal: host a National Citizens' Assembly in the summer of 2026. That means a refreshed U.S. Constitution, voted on by the public and ready for ratification by the states, by next year. It's ambitious, but we believe it can be done. More importantly, we believe it has to be done.
Citizens’ Assemblies bring Americans from all walks of life together—randomly selected, diverse, and nonpartisan—to tackle big issues and shape the future of the United States. These assemblies culminate in a National Citizens’ Assembly to craft a refreshed Constitution that truly represents us all.
